Community Purpose

Community benefit is the central purpose of the organisation and guides all operational decisions.

Community Interest Company Status

As a Community Interest Company (CIC), we are legally required to operate for the benefit of the community.

This status is overseen by the CIC Regulator and carries specific obligations relating to transparency, reporting, and use of funds.

The CIC structure ensures that our activities remain aligned with community benefit rather than private gain.

Asset Lock

Cat & Crow operates with a statutory asset lock.

This means that any surplus generated by the company must be reinvested into furthering its community objectives. Assets cannot be distributed for private benefit.

The asset lock provides long-term protection for the organisation’s purpose and ensures that resources remain dedicated to community use.

Directors and Accountability

The company is managed by its Directors, who are responsible for ensuring that activities are delivered in accordance with our governing documents and legal obligations.

Directors are required to act in the best interests of the company and its community purpose.

We maintain appropriate records, file statutory accounts and returns as required, and operate in accordance with our Articles of Association.
