Safeguarding

Cat & Crow Community Interest Company C.I.C. is committed to maintaining appropriate safeguarding standards within all of its activities.

Our work is community-based and non-clinical. Sessions are professionally facilitated and delivered within clear boundaries. The safety and wellbeing of participants is taken seriously at all times.

Our Approach

We provide structured group sessions and educational workshops for adults.

Clear facilitation, predictable session structure, and appropriate boundaries are central to creating safe environments. Participants are treated with respect, and contribution is invited but never forced.

Safeguarding is supported through:

• Clear group agreements
• Professional conduct
• Defined session boundaries
• Appropriate signposting where necessary

Scope of Our Work

Cat & Crow is not a crisis service and does not provide specialist mental health treatment.

If a participant requires urgent or specialist support, we will signpost to appropriate services such as GP practices, statutory services, or recognised support organisations.

Our sessions are not designed to manage high-risk or emergency situations.

Raising Concerns

If concerns arise during a session relating to the safety or wellbeing of a participant, facilitators will take appropriate and proportionate action.

This may include:

• Discussing concerns directly with the individual
• Signposting to relevant support services
• Seeking advice from appropriate safeguarding contacts where necessary

In situations where there is a risk of significant harm, we may be required to share information with relevant authorities in line with legal obligations.

Confidentiality

We aim to maintain appropriate confidentiality within group settings.

However, confidentiality may be limited where there is a safeguarding concern involving risk of harm to the individual or others.

Participants are informed of these limits at the outset of sessions.

Responsibility

The Directors of Cat & Crow Community Interest Company C.I.C. hold overall responsibility for safeguarding within the organisation.

We review our safeguarding arrangements periodically to ensure they remain appropriate and proportionate to the nature of our work.
